1. Since Kaye Krishna assumed the role of City of Vancouver General manager of Development, Buildings, and Licensing just over a year ago, the number short term rental complaints in the city have more than doubled.
2. Kaye Krishna was hired from New York City lobbying company HR&A, which boasts of Airbnb as a client.
3. Kaye Krishna has prepared a bylaw, that if passed, would legalize Airbnb at a time when Vancouver is facing a housing crisis.
4. Kaye Krishna has refused to enforce bylaws against short term rentals in a meaningful manner.
5. Kaye Krishna has reassured Airbnb hosts that they have little to fear than a letter from the City.

Based on the above, Kaye Krishna’s conduct amounts to, at minimum, dereliction of duty by a public official.

We, Citizens of Vancouver, hereby call upon Kaye Krishna to resign from her post as City of Vancouver General manager of Development, Buildings, and Licensing immediately and forthwith for the aforementioned reasons.
