Keep the George Wallace Tunnel

Keep the George Wallace Tunnel
The Issue
The Wallace Tunnel funded, constructed, and first opened in February of 1973 during our Governor George Wallace’s term.
Many of our local families and friends participated in the planning and construction of the Tunnel. It helped bridge our communities together and help people have quicker access when commuting from Baldwin to Mobile county.
Due to Wallace’s support and funding to help advance Alabama’s communities and help build businesses and increase revenue for local families and small businesses, the Tunnel was named George Wallace Tunnel.
It is a part of Alabama’s history and shows what resilience the people in our state have when they come together and plan for the future. Please sign and share this petition to help preserve our history and keep our Tunnel named after our former Governor Wallace!
