Please help us stop horse racing in Kaufman County! 

My neighbors have a horse racing track on their land. To hold a race, they must apply for a mass gathering permit with Kaufman County.  Once the permit is applied for, they set a date to go before a judge, the Kaufman County Sheriff, and the Fire Marshall. Legally, if they have everything that they need, the judge has to grant them the permit. That’s where this petition comes in! Let’s show the county that we do NOT want this in our community! 

These races bring speeding, drunk driving, drugs, prostitution, animal abuse, and a long list of other crimes to our small communities. Our county roads are not capable of handling the amount of traffic. 

Our tax dollars go to over time for the Kaufman County Sheriff to have all hands on deck to help patrol our roads and make sure the citizens are safe. 

I was almost hit walking my dog by a truck going at least 50mph down a blind curve on a dirt road. He was pulling a horse trailer and never would have been able to stop. Thankfully I jumped into a ditch and walked away without injury while pregnant!

They are holding a hearing on November 13th at 3:00pm. I know most people work and are not able to go so please sign our petition and let’s get this stopped!
