We are pleased to announce that KatyISD has unblocked PFLAG, GLSEN, the Montrose Center, and the Human Rights Campaign in response to our efforts. These websites are vital resources to supporting queer students, and we are so glad that students will now have access to these sites in KatyISD schools. If you or someone you know are ever in need of support related to LGBTQ+ identity while at school, please utilize these resources and any others you know to the best of their abilities.

While this success is great news, it is disappointing to see the district uphold their decision to block The Trevor Project, not just once but twice. We will continue pushing our efforts forward until The Trevor Project is accessible by students in KatyISD, the discriminatory internet filter category that had been titled "Alternative Sexual Lifestyles (GLBT)" is removed, and a nondiscrimination policy is adopted to protect on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity.
