As we observe Transgender Day of Remembrance and reflect on the lives lost from anti-trans violence, we are proud that community members – both part of the LGBTQ+ community and not – are supporting our petition for KatyISD to adopt a nondiscrimination policy that protects against discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity. In a time where it can feel despairing to be queer, access to LGBTQ+ information and resources like The Trevor Project is imperative. We thank each and every one of the 500+ who signed, commented, and shared our petition. Your efforts to advocate for queer students like us is greatly appreciated, and we hope you continue gathering support for our petition.
