We need to look beyond the stigma and towards the benefits, these products contain. CBD products, made from the whole plant of Industrial Hemp, as defined by Farm Bill 2014 Sec. 7606, that contains .3% or less THC.
It is a fact that CBD, (one of the major non-psychoactive cannabinoids) in the plant, and subsequent products, (CBD oil, tinctures, edibles, etc.) counteracts the psychoactive effects of THC. I want the option of choosing the CBD Product that works best for me. I want that option for everyone in Kansas. I want that option for everyone in America.
Everyone, as is every disorder, different. Some people respond well to CBD alone, as is the case with immune system disorders. Some respond well to higher levels of THC, as is the case with cancer patients. I have neurological issues that respond well to a combination approach of CBD and low levels of THC.
As citizens of Kansas, that currently does not have a law in alignment with the Farm Bill 2014, we deserve the option to make the choice regarding what product(s) work best for us as allowed by the Federal law.
SB282 proposes to remove CBD Products containing 0% THC from the schedule of controlled substances. This is only going part of the way to aligning our state laws with Farm Bill 2014. Our legislators need to define and legalize all CBD Products containing 0.3% THC or less as legal as allowed by Farm Bill 2014.
Help me send the message to our State Legislators that we want the option to choose between legally approved CBD Products containing 0% to 0.3% THC!
