Dogs are very social creatures and they need companionship and they need to be part of their pack, so chaining them outside for long periods of time is really a form of animal cruelty. They are stuck in one spot with no where to run from dangers. They are not able to move and shelter themselves from the weather, if their chain or rope gets caught up they can choke themselves to death. Dogs are not yard accessories,  they are family members - and it is about time the laws were changed to enforce that.  Kamloops Own, Pommy Country Rescue - is starting this petition in hopes the Kamloops Mayor and City Council will see the dire need for this by law to be in place. Want to help make a difference for chained dogs?
