July 02 - Happy Canada Day

Hi Everyone: As I think about Canada Day, it makes me proud to live in a country where everyone, even the most marginalized person living with active addictions on the street, has the constitutional right to life-saving healthcare like the supervised injection. Dr. Small wrote to Prime Minister Trudeau on 15 May 2018 asking for the establishment of a Royal Commission to examine the variables that have accounted for the dramatic overdose tragedy. On 16 May 2018, the Executive Correspondence Officer for the Prime Minister, M. Bredeson, forwarded his letter to the Health Minister for consideration. Today, he wrote to Canada’s Health Minister Petitpas Taylor in order to follow-up on the correspondence of 16 and 21 May 2018 regarding the opioid crisis.
