I wrote this letter to Prime Minster Trudeau...
Dear Mr. Trudeau,
This is my family. Yes it is a heartbreaking photo but it is like so many others in our country who are too young to lose a partner, with kids too young to lose a parent. We are a growing epidemic and I need some things in our country to change, to make the devastation that death creates slightly easier. I recently renewed our passports, all four of us. I had to bring in the death certificate to certify I had the right to do this on my own. I then asked if a note could be added to our file that the kids father was deceased so I did not have to continue to carry the death certificate. You see, it's a trigger of very sad emotions and a weight that is almost unbearable. I was told I would have to carry it with me when traveling with my children for the next twelve years. Please, I ask you, if a child can have a note on his file that he is on a no fly list, why can't you spare my family and countless others by adding a note so this document can finally be put away? Please help, I'm not the only one who needs this simple request to be taken seriously.
Please share and help me change this ❤ #canpoli #justintrudeau
Now I need your help to ask the government to add a deceased parent provision in passports.
Thank you! Your support is much appreciated.
