Last night I used the link below from ARPA Canada as a straightforward way to tell our Senators to amend or oppose Bill C4.
Bill C4 reads, in its preamble: "conversion therapy causes harm to society because, among other things, it is based on and propagates myths and stereotypes... including the myth that heterosexuality, cisgender gender identity, and gender expression that conforms to the sex assigned to a person at birth are to be preferred over other sexual orientations, gender identities and gender expressions;"
Bans on conversion therapy seem to specifically target Christians who recognize that biological sex is a part of God’s good design for humanity. Sex-affirming counseling or therapy is demonized, while affirming an identity different than one’s biological sex is celebrated. This is contradictory and reveals the ideological goal behind the bill.
