Thank you for your support! Homelessness in Montreal is an omnipresent issue. Taking the time to make small, but significant actions towards increasing awareness for the rights of the homeless, makes a big difference. Here is a reminder of some things you can do to help:

If you are in the position to do so, you can always donate. Donations help organizations directly in contact with homeless Montrealer’s in the streets to fulfill their minimal survival needs. You can donate to organizations such as Dans La Rue, Benoit Labre, Open Door Today, Mission Old Brewery, Welcome Hall Mission as well as Refuge des Jeunes. All of the links are available above!

That said, helping in increasing awareness for this eye-opening issue isn’t only about financial support. It is also about being advocates for the rights of the people who are the most vulnerable, the homeless. In fact, resources for organizations are really limited, and most often the most difficult thing to find for non-profits is good people to make the difference. Spreading the word around and reaching to organizations such as those mentioned above, to look for participating in volunteering opportunities, is a really great way to contribute in raising awareness for this issue.

No matter what you plan to do to support the cause, remember that every step, big or small, is a step forward towards helping the people who need it the most. Every single action counts!
