As reported below, on April 24 I sent copies of the petition to Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada, and Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage. On May 9 a reply was received from the office of the Prime Minister, acknowledging receipt of the petition and informing me that it had been forwarded to the office of the Minister of Canadian Heritage. It has been 55 days since that letter was received, and I have had no further response from the Government of Canada. I’m thus very sorry to report that Dr. Sutherland still does not have access to her research, and will not be able to do fieldwork on Baffin Island this summer. She needs to be able to continue this important work, and your sustained support will be very important and is greatly appreciated.
