I just wanted to reach out to let you know we’ve just passed 5,084 signatures on our petition! Each one of you took the time to learn about why a National Day of Mourning is needed to allow the nation to come together to respect and grieve the little children lost and buried in mass graves at the residential school in Kamloops, to help survivors by showing and acknowledging the pain, and why funding is needed to support community. Why is it important, Indigenous people can’t carry the weight alone, we need all Canadians asking questions of the government, asking for funding to search other residential school locations, and supporting communities and survivors grieving. We need time to hold our ceremonies, to place memorials, and without a National Day of Mourning by the Prime Minister we have to explain why we need time. Please continue to spread the word for the #215children. I have read each comment you write and hold my hands up to your for all the words.
Thank you so much for your support! Will you help me to get more support by sharing this petition with ten other people? If enough of us sign we can’t be ignored!
