#JUSTICEFORNOSIPHO!!! - child sexual abuse, incest, forced pregnancy
The Issue
My name is Dimitri Kozlov, and I am starting this petition for Nosipho Bongiswa Shongwe, a young girl from West Rand who has survived years of horrific abuse by her own father, Sicelo Ndinisa.
Nosipho has been sexually assaulted by her biological father, Sicelo Ndinisa, repeatedly since a child. During this time of continuous abuse, she fell pregnant in Grade 8 as a result of the assault and had to terminate the pregnancy. In Grade 10, she fell pregnant again from the assault and had to terminate again. Again, in Grade 11, she fell pregnant from the assault and had to terminate again. She says it became an everyday thing in her home.
When she tried to speak out, she was threatened. She was told that if she tells anyone, something terrible would happen to her. She lived in constant fear. But, Nosipho was brave enough to tell her aunt. Every time the assault happened, she would text her aunt to record what was happening. Those text messages were the evidence. Unfortunately, the phone containing all that evidence was stolen, leaving her vulnerable.
Her father, Sicelo Ndinisa, lives in Tshepisong West. Instead of taking responsibility and accountability, he has denied everything, called Nosipho a liar, and has been sending threats to unalive her for speaking the truth. Nosipho and her then found the courage to open a criminal case. Her father was arrested — but he was released after only TWO DAYS and is now free, while Nosipho lives in fear for her life.
This is not justice. This is failure to protect a child.
By creating this petition, we demand:
1. Immediate protection for Nosipho. The SAPS must ensure Nosipho is placed in a place of safety and given a protection order.
2. A thorough and urgent investigation. The aunt's testimony, the medical records of the three terminations, school records, and a forensic social worker assessment must be used as evidence.
3. That the father be charged not just with rape, but with repeated rape of a minor, incest, sexual grooming, intimidated, and death threats. He should not be out on bail when the victim is being threatened.
4. That Nosipho receives trauma counselling, and support from the Social Workers.
Nosipho is a child. She was supposed to be protected by her father. Instead, she was abused, impregnated, forced to go through termination, silenced with threats, and now threatened with death for seeking justice.
