No accident, a crash that could have been avoided. Eighteen-year-old P-plater Jordan Brown fell asleep at the wheel of his mum’s borrowed Mitsubishi Outlander returning from a music festival near Lithgow. The car crossed onto the wrong side of the Bells Line of Road at Bilpin. It ploughed into an oncoming Subaru driven by an elderly woman. Ben Sawyer, 19, Luke Shanahan, 21, and Lachlan Burleigh, 17, were in the back seat of the Outlander and died on impact.
