By advocating, and demanding law and policy change and accountability, is how we put a stop to the horrible injustices that surrounds us and protect our human rights as a society.

This needs to be said, and shared. This needs to be questioned, and pursued. This needs to never happen again to anyone

First Police Response 12:47 PM

1. Alarm response: Encountered 2 individuals who do not live there. A male individual who holding a knife and being uncooperative. Female both reluctant to get my mother, and on her cell phone non-stop
2. Witness a minor in the home
3. Red trail and cleaning supplies in view of police
4. Female told police owner was sleeping.
5. Police did not go inside, and did not follow their own Alarm response protocol
6. Cleared the scene without checking on the owner of the home or emergency contact
7. Did not ask or receive information on why the alarm went off.

Police Second response:

1. Did not confiscate girlfriends phone
2. Did not take girlfriend or minor in for formal questioning
3. Did not call social worker for minor
4. Did not render aid to minor or girlfriend
5. Did not question all surrounding neighbors
6. Did not ask for video surveillance of surrounding neighbors

911 call:
Initiated by Oldest daughter
Called mothers home, cell, and other to reach someone
Reached girlfriend through Facebook for 13 minutes messenger
Girlfriend did not indicate cause for concern.
Girlfriend did not disclose seeing blood or a fight that occurred between D.J andTina the night before to Shirley
Shirley did not hear D.J speaking in the background.
Sister concerned that Tina cannot be located told girlfriend she is calling 911. Shirley hangs up immediately to call 911.
Shirley got connected with initial responding officer to the alarm call
Officer confirms D.J was acting wearied and tells Shirley that he is going back to the house.

Girlfriend:
Comes in Tina’s house at 12:30am
Encounters DJ with blood all over his face
Allegedly DJ tells girlfriend he got into a fight with his mother and she went to bed.
Allegedly DJ tells girlfriend it is his own blood.
Girlfriend helps to clean the blood
Girlfriend told cops that she “thought it was his blood and was trying to be helpful cleaning it up.
Girlfriend tells police afterwards they took a bath. Girlfriend tells police she had no idea what happened to our mother and thought it was DJ’s blood which was why she was helping to clean. Again this happened the night before, No more questions, they simply chose to believe her lies.

Why did girlfriend not call the police?

Why did girlfriend lie to responding police about my mother being asleep?

Why did girlfriend not share this information when on the phone with her daughter?

Why did girlfriend take pictures of the blood from different angles and send them to her boss later in the afternoon?

Why did girlfriend not check on Tina to see if she was ok when she came to the house at 12:30am and when she allegedly woke up at around noon.?

Why did girlfriend not disclose the blood under the rug when police arrived for the alarm call?

Why did girlfriend wait to disclose helping to clean up the blood after my sister mentioned a camera in Tina’s house when talking to the detective over speaker? She had been talking to Detective for over an hour prior to my sister being on speaker.

Why did girlfriend lie to police and said she told Shirley to call 911? Completely false.

Why was girlfriend, DJ and minors phone cut off that day?

Why did girlfriend say her service was off and could only communicate using the house wi-Fi when clearly she is non stop texting and using her phone far from the house Wi-Fi including riding away with the detective to get cigarettes. In the police video footage received, girlfriend clearly has no issue using her phone to communicate the entire time distance away from the home.

Also, Why did girlfriend pay a phone charge to turn on the phone after second response call while at that time they are trying to get DJ to surrender?

Why was girlfriend worried about thousands of dollar worth of packages of new phones being delivered to my mothers house?

Why was the first interview conducted with a detective inside the front seat of car their police vehicle?

Why did the detective think it was perfectly ok to leave the scene to drive the girlfriend to get a pack of cigarettes?

Why did girlfriend say her minor child was left home alone with D.J for 2 hours? Time of death had not been confirmed and girlfriend claimed she knew nothing however last text from Tina was at 10:30pm 11/27/23 which would make it 2 hours before she arrives from her job to the house? No one had any of this information at the time.

Why did minor child say to girlfriend during first alarm call body worn camera “I wanna see Yaya”, and girlfriend says “No baby she is not feeling well”?

Why did girlfriend not disclose that she took photos when she got to the house at 12:30am to Tina’s daughters or police?

Why was the girlfriend questioned only 2x the same day 11/28/21 and both in the car? And why did neither questioned the girlfriend on her bizarre behavior/actions and inconsistencies in her stories?

Why wasn’t the minor questioned on 11/28/21?

Why did police not take girlfriends DNA?

Why did police not take DNA from the cleaning supplies by the couch?

Why did Tina’s car smell like smoke and was parked outside the garage?

Why did we have to tell police to take the car to be checked?

Why did they wait to question a neighbor who heard arguing until 2 months later after I had to tell them too?

Why is Glen Burnie Maryland legal system allowed to get away with an undeniable botched investigation with absolutely no accountability or consequence?

Why is the victims family continuing to suffer by a failed legal system in Maryland who refuses to seek Justice for our mother? This state is absolutely disgraceful!

This list goes on and on with So many unanswered questions and disturbing outcomes such as:

We were allowed to go inside the house the next day of the crime without any further investigation or clean up. A without question a very traumatizing experience.

I was not allowed to ID my mothers body. Nor were we allowed to request autopsies or get any more information until over a year later and with the help of a legal PIA ombudsman.

A police bullet was found in the home 3 months later,  and the pressing concern was how does a crime scene get cleared without retrieval of all evidence?

PIA request were illegally delayed, difficult to obtain as they used multiple stonewall attempts.  More assistance was obtained by a legal ombudsman to help us receive our PIA requests. Sadly all information received confirmed all of our suspicions however Maryland continues to gaslight us.

Not to mention the initial absurd PIA request that was nearly 9,000 they wanted us to pay in exchange for some of this information and with multiple agencies involved it was a disaster to sort out custodians of records/files/video footage that they were not making easy for us to obtain. We are still without some of the PIA requested in which after 4 months  we were forced to amend our request and pay $800 dollars for a reduced and heavily redacted file that was mostly useless as they cut out more than half of the audio file.

This state is the worse. They do not care about their victims, their families, or justice. This is a state that rewards their criminals and punishes their victims.

My advice if you live in this state, Move! There are so many other states that truly value their victims lives . They advocate and protect victims rights, victims safety, and victims right for restorative justice. We all deserve better than this! My mother deserved better than this!
