Campaign Update: Accountability, Community Healing, and Progress Since February 7, 2025

Dear Supporters,

I hope this message finds you well.

First, I want to sincerely thank each of you for your support, advocacy, and commitment to our community. Your voices have helped bring attention to important issues in Titusville, and I wanted to share two significant updates.

Chief John Lau Removed

One of the goals many community members advocated for has now become a reality. The City of Titusville has removed Chief John Lau from his position as Chief of Police. While there is still important work ahead to strengthen transparency, accountability, and trust within our community, this represents a significant development that would not have been possible without continued community engagement.

Community Memorial Wall Initiative

I am also excited to share that on June 9, 2026, the Titusville City Council voted to explore funding and grant opportunities for the installation of an Ongoing Community Memorial Wall with Engraved Legacy Bricks. The vision is to create a lasting space for remembrance, healing, reflection, and community connection.

As planning continues, community participation remains essential. The City is continuing to accept public input regarding the potential location of the memorial wall, including the proposed area connected to the Harry T. Moore Social Service Center and the Blues Market in Titusville.

Written public comments and survey responses will help guide future discussions regarding the memorial wall’s location, community partnerships, and implementation opportunities.

The City survey will remain open through July 9, 2026.

If you have not already done so, I encourage you to complete the survey and share your thoughts before the deadline.

If you would like to share your thoughts, please complete the City survey and consider using the “Other” sections under:

• Public Services
• Infrastructure Needs
• Neighborhood Revitalization

ideas to consider include:

• An ongoing Community Memorial Wall or Legacy Brick Program
• Engraved commemorative bricks honoring loved ones
• Seating and reflection areas
• Healing and remembrance spaces
• Beautification and community engagement improvements
• Increased partnerships with local service providers and community organizations

Every response helps demonstrate community interest and provides valuable feedback as the City continues evaluating this initiative.

Thank you again for standing together in support of accountability, healing, and positive change. I am grateful for your continued involvement and look forward to sharing additional updates as they become available.

This update is being shared publicly with all supporters of this petition through the Change.org platform. It is intended solely as a public informational update and is not intended to facilitate discussion or deliberation among members of any public board or committee.

With gratitude,

Christina Stokes
