Thank you for signing this petition, but we need to raise greater awareness of this incredible injustice happening in Afghanistan. It is unthinkable that we are approaching 2023 in a world where innovation, science, engineering and technology has made so many things possible and where female experts are at the heart of every field, and pioneers of cutting edge discoveries, and yet in a country like Afghanistan the hopes and dreams of so many young women are being shattered by the Taliban, by banning them from completing their education.
Please share this petition as widely as possible and help us keep up the momentum.
Every signature added, is a show of solidarity, a mark of our genuine empathy and a means of peaceful protest.
Let us not forget every Allied Soldier who lost their lives, or were disabled, the families all over the world destroyed by the loss of loved ones who were on a Tour of Duty in Afghanistan only for all their efforts to have been in vain and the country that they defended, handed on a platter to the very monsters who destroyed it and are now doing so again, through clandestine talks and deals agreed during the Trump Administration, and followed up by the Biden one.
By imposing laws that are contrary to the UN Resolution on Human Rights and by systematically destroying every ounce of progress made in the last twenty years, the Taliban have the clear intention of forcing Afghanistan back into the middle ages, and the female population is targetted in particular and all of their human rights are being stripped away by this non-elected, illegal and oppressive terrorist regime. We never thought that we would ever witness stoning to death in our stadiums again, but it is happening now and the criminal justice system that was run by trained legal experts has now been handed over to Taliban judges who have a proven disregard for justice and human rights and are mostly illiterate in anything but their own brand of fanaticism.
Every method of raising awareness and calling on the international community to put pressure on the de facto Taliban government must be used, and by joining our voices together we have proven that we can make an impact.
In order to honour every life needlessly lost we have a duty to protest conscientiously, peacefully, and collectively.
Thank you for reading this update. Please continue to share this petition.
