In an apparent effort to reduce public scrutiny, Lisa Jaeger has issued an announcement stating, “With a heavy heart, I have decided to step down from my position as a board member of Happy Cat Sanctuary.”
However, she later clarifies that while she will no longer be involved in the day-to-day operations of the sanctuary, she intends to remain involved in a volunteer capacity.
We view this as a pitiful and inadequate attempt to pacify those demanding meaningful change and accountability. To this we respond—not good enough.
Some of the most egregious and well-documented instances of mismanagement and neglect took place under Lisa Jaeger’s supervision and direction. As long as she maintains any involvement in the sanctuary’s operations or future planning, the safety and well-being of the animals remain in jeopardy.
We urge you to continue signing and sharing the petition. We must advocate for the cats who need our protection now more than ever.
