When I took a short break from posting updates, the silence was deafening. No calls. No follow-ups. No urgency from the people who claim they’re here to serve justice. And that right there proves the point: the minute I stop talking, they count on me — and all of us — to fade away.

But I refuse.

My son, Shawn Lee Fortune, was 21 years old. He entered Pittsburgh Job Corps on February 24, 2025, ready to build a future. By February 26, he was dead. Since that day, officials have tried to bury the truth. One detective told me Shawn’s injuries “came from the exam.” The medical examiner called it “lividity.” But the evidence — swelling, abrasions, a fractured nose — does not match those claims.

When I pushed for answers, what did I get?

Emails bounced back — even though records show they were received.

FOIA request 2025-F-15839 gave me a number, but the follow-up email, eta link and phone line they provided are dead ends.

The DOJ, the Department of Labor, and Pennsylvania state offices all stalled or went quiet.

This isn’t incompetence. This is obstruction.

And the more I’ve fought, the more I’ve realized this isn’t just about my son. It’s about the system we’re living in — and where it’s headed.

Look around. Our cities are collapsing.

In Baltimore, the Francis Scott Key Bridge was destroyed — cutting off a vital lifeline.

In Philadelphia, public transit is falling apart while “solutions” are nowhere to be found.

FEMA suspended employees simply for signing a letter warning about Trump-era rollbacks — whistleblowers silenced.

At the same time, companies like Bizzuto are building super-center apartment complexes across Baltimore, DC, and Pittsburgh. These “mixed-income” towers combine the poor and the wealthy in one building, with gyms, restaurants, entertainment, and even healthcare inside. They look like progress — but in reality, they’re the infrastructure of control.

This is the 15-minute city agenda:

Collapse lifelines. Remove the homeless (the very people who know how to survive outside their system). Silence families like mine who ask questions. Then funnel everyone into “self-contained zones” where every movement, every purchase, every breath is monitored.

Does this sound far-fetched? Look at what’s already happening:

Bridges down.

Transit collapsing.

Whistleblowers punished.

Families silenced.

Homeless disappeared from downtowns.

This is not coincidence. This is construction through destruction.

And Shawn’s death fits right into this agenda. Poor, Black, vulnerable youth are always the testing ground. They were supposed to silence me. But I will not be erased.

Because if they can cover up what happened to my son, and if we let them, then in two years’ time what they’re doing in the shadows now will be perfectly legal. And when that day comes, none of us will be safe.

This is bigger than one child, one family, or one city. This is about freedom. And the question is: will we fight for it, or will we wait until it’s our turn to be erased?
