New Court Filings in the Shanquella Robinson Civil Case

Several new documents have been filed in the civil lawsuit brought by Sallamondra Robinson, individually and on behalf of the Estate of Shanquella Robinson.

E’Mani Green is asking the Mecklenburg County Superior Court to stay the civil case while her petition remains pending before the North Carolina Court of Appeals. If the court does not stop the entire case, Green is requesting a protective order that would delay her obligation to answer Sallamondra Robinson’s written discovery until 14 days after the appellate court rules. Green argues that answering the questions could place her in a position where she may invoke her Fifth Amendment rights. These are arguments made in her motion. The court has not granted the requested stay or protective order.

On August 5, 2026, Sallamondra Robinson filed a motion asking the court to compel Green to answer the interrogatories and requests for production. The motion states that the discovery was served in early June, that Green received an extension through August 3, and that no responses had been provided when the motion was filed. Sallamondra Robinson is also requesting costs, attorney fees, and any other relief the court considers appropriate.

Nazeer Tyree Wiggins has also asked the court for permission to amend the answer he previously filed while representing himself. His proposed amended answer states that he was not present during the physical altercation, arrived at the villa afterward, was not told about the altercation, and did not learn about it until he saw the video online. These are Wiggins’s defenses and have not been established as facts by the court.

Green’s amended motion and Wiggins’s motion for permission to amend his answer are scheduled to be heard on August 24, 2026, in Mecklenburg County Superior Court. The hearing notices state that the proceedings are open to the public and will be recorded by the Clerk of Court.
