Petition updateJUSTICE FOR SHANQUELLA ROBINSON! WE NEED ANSWERS! #ShanquellaRobinsonPETITION UPDATE: Federal Claims Dismissed But the Fight for Justice Continues
DANI ROBERTSONAE, United States
Jun 15, 2025

As of June 13, 2025, the lawsuit brought by Shanquella Robinson’s mother against the FBI and US State Department has been officially dismissed by the federal court. The court ruled that the government cannot be held liable for how it conducted its investigation or responded to extradition requests. In short, the judge found that the FBI and State Department are protected under sovereign immunity and procedural technicalities.

It is important to be clear about one thing. The dismissal does not mean there was no wrongdoing. It simply means that under current laws, federal agencies cannot be sued for how they choose to investigate or fail to act, even in tragic cases like this one.

Separately, over 100 pages of FBI documents were recently released under a Freedom of Information Act request. Although heavily redacted, the documents confirm that the FBI asked serious questions about Shanquella’s death in early 2023. They show attempts to obtain records including 911 audio, autopsy results, security footage, and more. However, no responses from Mexican authorities were included in those files.

Also, while some people have recently discussed an arrest warrant, there is no new warrant or arrest at this time. The warrant being referenced was issued by Mexican officials back in November 2022 and remains unenforced. The new documents only confirm that such a warrant was previously issued, not that new charges are coming.

Meanwhile, the civil case against the six individuals who traveled with Shanquella to Mexico is still active. Several of those defendants are trying to move the case out of North Carolina and into Mexican jurisdiction. One of them, Daejhanae Jackson, who is now going by the name Emani Green, only just responded in court on May 28.

What this means for us is simple. We keep going.

This petition is one of the only tools we have to show that public pressure still matters. Please share this petition with at least one more person today. The case may be long, but we are not giving up.

Justice delayed is not justice denied unless we stay silent.

Thank you for standing with Shanquella’s family and for demanding answers when the systems in place keep failing.

Here is the latest document. Have a blessed Sunday.  https://icanticant.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/ORDER-TO-DISMISS-1.pdf
