Tomorrow, October 3rd, 2023, we all were poised for a preliminary hearing on the Criminal Animal Neglect case for The Commonwealth of PA vs. Anne Yeager Gibbs of K-9 Hero Haven. Ms. Gibbs has opted to waive the hearing and go straight to the court of pleas. The case will be postponed until next month, and I will update accordingly. There are many reasons why a criminal defendant would want to skip the preliminary hearing. To be clear, NONE of the reasons benefit the 12 retired working dogs seized during the failed inspection in June of 2023. The reasons do not benefit the retired working dogs subjected to the criminal neglect as evidenced by yet another failed State kennel inspection in August of 2023. Let's keep this neglect of the retired working dogs on the forefront of everyone's mind! They want us to forget. They want us to go away. But, for the retired working dogs still remaining at K9 Hero Haven we must stay the course.
