On October 23rd, Lamont, the man who would go on to murder Lee, was arrested for putting his hands on her. But just four days later, on October 27th, he was released. Less than a month after that, on November 16th, Lee was killed.

We need to ask the system directly: How is it possible that someone who showed clear violence against a woman could be released so quickly? Who is protecting women if not the system itself? Was this failure what allowed Lee’s murderer to strike again?

Lee’s life mattered. This cannot be ignored. We demand answers, accountability, and real change to protect survivors before it’s too late.
