THIS IS WHAT ANIMAL PROTECTION LOOKS LIKE WITH THE LEADERS IN THE BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY COLUMBUS AREA!!
THIS IS THE 2ND ANNIVERSARY OF THOR ‘ S DEATH!!
I said I would be covering some of the animals that the leaders in the Bartholomew County /Columbus area have failed!!
This is the HALL OF SHAME of Bartholomew county and Columbus.
There is still important information to cover on Aspen and actually, unfortunately she is a newest member inducted into the HALL OF SHAME, but today is the 2ND ANNIVERSARY of Thor’s death so in honor of Thor we’re going to cover him today!!
Thor, came on the scene around 2019. Thor unfortunately , was owned by Benjamin Collins. Bill Nash was the prosecutor at the time and Mark Case was the animal control officer.
Neighbors called animal control at least 3x yet Thor was left with the owner because the prosecutor at that time, Bill Nash, refused to file charges. Finally, he was taken away three times, returned twice and the only reason he wasn’t return the third time is because Thor passed.
Charges were brought against Collins, but because an autopsy from Purdue showed cancer they dropped charges against Collins.
Even if cancer was a contributor, it would be the responsibility of Thors owner, Benjamin Collins to seek medical attention.
Many animal advocates have taken up the cause for Thor and others.
I’m sure there are others, but some of the ones that have worked tirelessly are Nancy Ray, Sandy Bush, and Vicky Stover.
Nancy has founded a group Change 4 Bartholomew County https://facebook.com/groups/change4barthcty/ .
These ladies have been fighting for change, but have hit a brick wall in the county commissioners; Tony London, Larry Kleinhenz and Carl Lienhoop.
The county commissioners are the decision makers in the animal protection ordinances in the county.
Both Larry Kleinhenz and Carl Lienhoop have been in office 20+ years. Carl Lienhoop is cousin to mayor Jim Lienhoop.
They refuse to change Bartholomew County animal protection ordinances, even though they are the weakest of all the surrounding counties. They also refuse to establish an animal commission board to oversee animal protection.
They claim that folks have called them, saying they do not want the ordinances changed. The folks that do not want the ordinances to change are the farmers.
If you will do some research, you will see that the farmers of Bartholomew county control Bartholomew county.
These county commissioners are immovable on animal protection. The only way to get stronger animal protection ordinances is to vote each and everyone of them out of office!!
I am including links to articles on Thor, and I’m also going to include a list of contacts to the leaders and officials of Bartholomew county and Columbus.
I encourage everyone to do your own research on this situation.
