As many of you know my pregnant daughter was shot and killed July 26, 2014 and the killer got a free pass. In Other words he was never charged, arrested or detained. After carefully reviewing everything in the package I got from the State Attorneys Office in Hernando County I have come to the conclusion the man who killed my daughter and grandson should have been charged with Manslaughter. I am not an Attorney but I do know how to read and have taken law classes before quitting college as I know longer believed in the justice system. My daughter's killer getting away with killing her and my grandson only strengthens my belief the justice system is corrupt. My daughter was killed because the killer was showing off tricks he learned on You Tube(twirling his gun like a cowboy) on the interview tape with Detective Breedlove he admitted to knowing and talking to a Sgt. Holbrook of the Hernando County Sheriffs Office and the detective admitted to knowing the Sgt. and then deterred the conversation away from the discussion of the Sgt. Now two months after my daughters death in Tallahassee a man named Eric Stayton did the same thing as my daughter's killer twirling a gun like a cowboy and shot and killed his sister at her birthday party. Mr. Stayton was arrested and convicted of manslaughter. He got three years jail and 7 years probation so I am confused as to why this man has been prosecuted and convicted and my daughter's killer who killed two people is free with no fear of prosecution. Something is terribly wrong with this. Obviously, I believe there is corruption in the Hernando County Sheriff's office as well as with the State Attorneys Office. Here is a link to the Eric Stayon case http://www.wctv.tv/home/headlines/Birthday-Celebration-Turns-Into-Accidental-Shooting-275196361.html
You tell me How fair is our justice system? Why is the one man prosecuted and the other not? I think the Hernando County Sheriff's Office needs to be investigated and definitely the Hernando County State Attorney's office. When is Florida's Corrupt Judicial System going to get cleaned up and who is not chicken to do it. The laws should be for all the people not a select few. I am certainly Livid my daughter and grandson's killer has not been prosecuted and I strongly feel the people in the State Attorney's Office in Hernando need more schooling on the law.
