Happy New Year!!
As this new year begins we wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported Jolly through this difficult journey. Without the love and support surrounding us during this time I’m not sure how we would have made it most days. There’s still a long road to recovery but knowing he’s not alone in it makes all the difference. He’s been dealing with some pain and unexpected side effects with his stoma and overall healing is a slow process. Next week is his procedure to see how he’s healing and if he’ll be a candidate for reversal surgery. Please keep him in your prayers for that. He still remains on a waitlist for mental health care which is beyond frustrating.
Yesterday we went out to run a few errands and it was really nice to spend a little time together outside the house but Jolly got tired pretty quickly so we came home after our second stop. When he’s not resting or watching his favorite shows and comfort movies, he spends most of his time writing new music or playing on his ukulele or harmonica which brings great joy.
One final note… we are so grateful for everyone who has contributed to the petition and shared and made videos. It means more than you know. Additionally we wanted you to know the money donated on the petition does not go to us or our cause but goes directly to Change.Org. We became aware that the way the site advertises the donation it may seem otherwise so we wanted to clarify. If you are looking to donate directly to help with bills or support equipment for Jolly our cashapp is $ashtalkstoomuch and our Venmo is @ashleygonos. No pressure just wanted to ensure the correct information was out there 🫶
Again, we can’t thank you all enough for continuing to share and encourage others to sign the petition. Together we can make meaningful lasting change for all veterans exposed to toxins during service.
May the new year bring you happiness, healing, and peace. 🫶
