Dec 11 2021 Jacob contacted Louisa County Sheriff's Office about two men who needed help from the water in Lake Anna behind his house.

They'd made it to a small island named Bone Island.
Two officers came to his home but rescue was over an hour away. One officer used a kayak from one of the boathouses at the location but was unable to retrieve the men alone.
Jacob pulled out his own kayak and attached a pull floaty (the kind you use to drag people behind a boat) to his body and went to the Island and brought the men to shore. Deputy Irvine was present and coordinating from the shore. Jacobs mom was present as well and can validate this story.

Some of you might not have known Jacob. But it's my hope that in sharing these kinds of stories (and there's no shortage of them, Jacob was an amazing man) you can get a feel for who he was as a person, and just how BIG his heart was. Because Jacob always helped anyone he could.
It adds salt to the wound to think he always went above and beyond, and in the end.. got less than the bare minimum from the very individuals who took an oath to serve and protect.
