Dear Petition Signers,
We're writing to provide you with crucial updates on our efforts to enact legislation that will protect children with complex medical needs.
Name Change:
To avoid confusion with an existing "Faith's Law," we are officially changing the name of our legislation to Faith Marie's Law. This change will help ensure clarity as we move forward in the legislative process.
Legislative Progress:
We're pleased to report that Faith Marie's Law has reached its final draft stages and is supported and patroned by a Virginia delegate. It is scheduled to be presented to the House in July 2026. This is a significant step forward, and your support has been instrumental in getting us here.
Frederick Public Schools Inaction:
Despite the progress at the state level, we are facing continued resistance at the local level. The Winchester Star recently reached out to Frederick County Public Schools regarding their public support of Faith Marie's Law. Once again, they have refused to show support for this vital legislation, demonstrating a continued disregard for the well-being of children with complex medical conditions. This is unacceptable, and we will not tolerate this mistreatment of our children.
Call to Action:
We urge you to take the following actions to increase the pressure on Frederick County Public Schools and ensure the passage of Faith Marie's Law:
- Continue Sharing the Petition Daily: The more signatures we gather, the stronger our voice becomes. Please keep sharing the petition with your networks.
- Contact Frederick County Public Schools: Reach out to the school board and superintendent directly to express your concerns and demand their support for Faith Marie's Law.
- Attend the Next School Board Meeting: Join us at the next Frederick County Public School Board meeting on April 22nd to show your support in person and apply pressure on the decision-makers.
Your ongoing activism is essential to ensure that Faith Marie's Law becomes a reality and that all children, regardless of their medical needs, are treated with the care and respect they deserve.
Remember, we are not asking for special treatment. We are demanding equitable access to education.
Thank you for your unwavering commitment to this cause. Together, we will make a difference.
