The accused were arrested; how do we prevent such incidents in future?
Trust is saved atleast to some extent. The accused were arrested on Jan 3rd, 2024. Sadly, they were involved in multiple other molestation incidents on the campus. Hopefully, they will meet their fate once the court gives a verdict.
But this is only temporary relief. The question remains - How do we make sure such incidents don't happen again in the future? How can the security at the campus be bolstered to provide a safe learningful environment to the students? How do we cure this permanently?
This will need bigger and bolder changes. This will need consistent support from the institute's esteemed alumni and student community to move the BHU and IIT administration towards making it happen.
But before that, we will need to change - To not take such incidents forgranted, feeling sad and thinking we cant do anything! There is power in the voice of all those who don't fear to raise it. At the least we can ask, ask for making these changes happen. Hoping we all will keep our consciousness awake by calling for action to make the right victorious over wrong!
