The state of Oklahoma has wasted Keeping an individual locked up for 19 years in the state of Oklahoma costs taxpayers an estimated $313,500 to $468,312 in direct incarceration expenses.

Joshua Christon is just one inmate out of approximately 23,500 people incarcerated in Oklahoma's state prison system. If each inmate is locked up 19 years the total comes to

 $9,400,000,000.
