If anyone still thought the County would reconsider their decision to award developer Boston South a chance bring horse racing and gambling to Plymouth, at tonight’s County Commissioners meeting that hope was extinguished.
Not only did the County officially approve Boston South’s bid, but the Commissioners refused to let any of the 25 Plymouth residents who attended the meeting speak.
After the meeting ended to chants of ‘shame, shame..’ Commissioner Greg Hanley spoke with those same residents, outside of the meeting and unofficially, and cynically admitted that - as a resident of Plymouth himself - he was opposed to the proposal, but then gloated about earning the County $450,000 for a project that he did not expect to succeed.
