Colin Trevorrow became aware of our initiative and spoke about it on Twitter. He attributed a conspirational tone to our petition and to the subsequent media coverage. We are not here to feed the crowd with anger or to represent "fake fansites". We are devoted fans like anyone else. Let's make a point: we don't hold a personal grudge against Trevorrow and we have nothing in common with toxic fans. We wrote this petition with a proactive tenor in mind: Jurassic World 3 will be made. We liked Bayona's work and we explained why. We think he's better suited than Trevorrow for directing another episode of the franchise and we gave reasons. We think his directorial skill is what Jurassic World needs right now, while Trevorrow's style and screenwriting are easily replaceable. It's not a big deal. We aren't forcing people to change their mind or to sign anything. It's just a debate between fans which was exploited by a minority to fuel conflict, spreading the "Get Colin Out" part while ignoring our overall thinking. Even some pro-Colin fans had an aggressive demeanor towards us. Extremists can be found anywhere, but we don't get along with them. We hope some detractors (including Trevorrow) will judge this petition in a less superficial way.
