Reaction from School Board Meeting.

I want to update those who were not able to attend last nights board meeting. We had several speakers that painted a pretty clear picture to the board that the community they serve does not want this school to be named Mackey High School. School Board President Mr. Steve Salyer basically said he was not impressed with the numbers that turned out. He said he only received 14 emails about this matter, and that it was an extremely small percentage of those in the community that he serves. Mr. LaFoille pretty much said that he was not won over by those who spoke last night, and that he only received 6 emails on the meeting day and he didn’t know how many prior to that. We need to continue to press on with this battle. It is far from over. Mr. Macias was able to see that his constituents are very passionate about the naming of the school. Mr. Macias said that he would like to see this come up at the next board meeting where he will retract his vote. We need to continue to email all board members. Even if it is every day. Apparently this is what they want to see. Also we need to comment on the JBLOG which is where Salyer is looking. I am including all board members Email address and the link to the JBLOG.
