Good morning to all! I wanted to thank those who have taken time to not only sign, but share this petition.
I will not flood everyone's emails with constant updates, but did want share that I have made contact with someone within Josh Shapiro's office who works for The Governor's Advisory Commission on Women. This office was established by Josh Shapiro when he took office to address women's issues within the state. The person with whom I have connected approved all language used in this petition. I did make a few edits per her suggestions that expand the scope of the petition to not only address Philadelphia Family court judges, but ALL judges within the state of Pennsylvania. I have a meeting scheduled with her in August.
Again, one does not need to reside in PA to sign! This is a national issue and if one state can start to implement changes we can hope other states might follow suit. Originally I had hoped to work to change laws, Though that might come, came to realize how starting small could be more impactful for the long term. Working within our courts and in our communities to offer educational tools and support might help these community leaders want to advocate on a larger scale.
Also, thank you to those who did make a donation. I receive NONE of this but according to change.org it does help boost the petition to people outside my network. Should anyone decide to share again, please let your friends know that a donation is NOT required. One has the option of sending the petition to self when promoted to share or donate!
I truly appreciate your support. My goal is to gain 10,000 signatures. Although we are so far from that right now, we can continue to drive forward to collect as many as we can. I hope to start knocking on doors within the next few weeks If anyone would like to join me please reach out.
To the people who have commented sharing their stories, I am so sorry. I am unable to reply (or maybe I have-not figured out how to do so yet!), but wanted to let you know we see you and we hear you.
Thank you all again!
Best,
Kat
