.our greatly appreciated for your active role in the fight to reverse some these grave atrocities that's so prevalent in our society today. So for that I thank you personally.....
My name is Ramon Gray and im currently being illegally detained here at lake Erie correctional institution. I've been fighting for my life and freedom for the past 11 years. I was convicted of Double Aggravated Murder in 2008 and sentenced to 2 consecutive life sentences without the possibilty of parol with an additional 8 years. Before I was kidnapped and robbed of my freedom, I was enrolled in ITT Technical institute do to start in March 2008 spring course. I also had vested interest in a small Real Estate business that buy, flip and sale distressed homes. Within the last 2 years the actual chain of events that took place that night has come to the light. While here at Lake Erie correctional institution an imate approached me ( in 2017 ) and told me the specifics of my case and revealed to me that he was one of the guys that brutally attacked me and my brother on the night of this
incident. He said him and the other 3 guys was on a robbing spree, and everybody know that I didn't kill nobody but especially him do to the fact that he was one of the guys that was jumping me in between the two cars when the first shot was fired, which was the initial shot that dispersed the crowd. When he told me the details and that he was willing to help me bring the truth to the light I immediately contacted my family who retained counsel. My attorney proceeded to do a thourough investigation to line the facts up, which lead to him interviewing my brother who confessed that he was the actual shooter of these guys in self defense with their own pistol after it fell out one of the guys hands while he was brutally pistol whipping my brother. We went about the proper channels to present this information promply to the courts where I was granted a hearing on the motion, the evidence
was never weighed and after spending two months in the inhumane cuyahoga county jail my motion was denied without any factfinding or conclusion of law for doing so. I proceeded to the Eighth District Court of Appeals where they affirmed the trial court ruling saying I should've tried to find the other guy sooner and I never showed that I was unavoidably prevented from discovering this newly discovered evidence (like being wrongfully incarcerated 11 years with limited resources and access should'nt of stopped me) namely attaining the affidavit from Mr. Davis and they totally disregarded the confession of my brother. The way these guys savagely sneak attacked me I literally could'nt identify them standing right in front of me, the only way I knew the guy Davis was one of the guys because of his descriptive detail to the facts. I'm writing you because I know that you are a voice for the
voiceless and that your on the side of justice for the disenfranchised and marginalized. If theirs anything you could do to help shine a light on this grave injustice I beg your assistance. I'm currently putting together an petition, that I'll send you shortly, thank you in advance God bless you and I pray that peace be with you.
