Judicial Council of California: Please stop contracting with Dr. Lyn Mangiameli
The Issue
Dr. Lyn J. Mangiameli is a psychologist that works in the courts of Santa Clara County and San Benito County. Last year Dr. Mangiameli earned $27,677.50 from the Judicial Council of California.
Dr. Mangiameli was paid by the state to conduct an evaluation for me. The problem was that my ex's attorney had indicated that she would tamper with any evaluation.
I refused to undergo an evaluation because my children were being sexually abused. Any false determination of competency would affect my standing to protect my children.
Nonetheless, Dr. Mangiameli submitted a psychological report to the record. He never met or spoke to me. He didn't even use an assessment.
When I found out that he was going to write a report without my participation, I filed a preemptive complaint with the California Board of psychology. I made sure that Dr. Mangiameli knew about what was happening to my children.

I have a graduate degree in psychology. It is basic knowledge that to make any determination, one must use scientific measures. What Dr. Mangiameli did was not only unethical, but inhumane. I've asked him to retract his report and return the ill gotten money back to the state. He has refused to do so.
This psychologist can no longer be trusted to work in our courts. He makes important determinations that affect public safety. I believe that he has demonstrated that cannot be trusted with this task.
Please sign this petition to urge the Judicial Council to longer contract with particular psychologist.
