Hi cash lovers,

Our petition is building support and signatures. Please keep it going by sharing the petition or this email!

Banks are closing thousands of branches and ATMs in towns and suburbs across Australia. Many towns now have no bank branch and are being left with very limited access to cash. To keep cash widely accepted, banks must keep branches open. And ATMs have to common and convenient.

Here is more information and a list of the recently announced bank branch closures

Since early 2020, NAB has closed 45 branches, ANZ is down 127 branches, Westpac is shutting 56 branches and Commonwealth Bank is down 31 branches.

In the four years to June 2020, Australia lost 643 bank branches and a massive 4,194 bank-owned ATMs.

If the government mandates our right to use cash, banks must provide access to cash. Cash that supports local businesses, local economies and local communities.

And local businesses need to accept cash so everyone is included in the economy and no one is left behind.
