Women in Jordan have one of the highest literacy rates in the Middle East, and although they have made tremendous gains in education and other sectors, there continues to be a significant gender pay gap. 

According to the CNN project “As Equals” which is dedicated to covering gender inequality in lesser developed countries (http://edition.cnn.com/interactive/asequals/ )The average pay in Jordan is 83% less for women than men.  According to the study women earn $2,516 annually, as opposed to men who earn $15,417. Please sign this petition if you are in favour of closing the gender pay gap and believe in equal pay for both men and women. We urge parliament to engage in active discussions about these issues. We demand a solution and end to the inequality. Jordanian women should live in a society that supports their efforts and ambitions.
