Let’s get this going!

I started this petition because The Jones County Board of Education needs to reverse the mask mandate now. Over the past week, such a mandate has created division within our schools. Kids are being discriminated against by teachers and faculty  vocalizing personal beliefs.

At the exact same time the BOE decided to mandate masks they stated that they could not punish the non-complaint children. However, I have heard that: Clifton Ridge Middle School students who aren’t complying with the mandate are being sent to the office to have their parents called, children are being isolated and spaced out towards the back of the classroom if they refuse to wear a mask, and one teacher who even called a student “selfish” for not wearing a mask. This is not okay. This was not happening when the students were given the CHOICE on masks. And a teachers personal beliefs should never be coerced onto a CHILD. Reverse the Mask Mandate now and stop the division in our schools. Wearing a mask is a CHOICE just like other healthcare decisions.
