As you know, we have been saying since we formed the Children First Alliance that our children need a voice at the highest level of government - the Cabinet. This call is gathering pace and support in both Houses as parliamentarians of all persuasions realise the enormous impact the pandemic has had on children and their carers.

The current post, held by Vicky Ford MP, is "Minister for Children, Young People and Families" and this is a Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State in the Department for Education rather than a Cabinet Post. This is not senior enough to meet the needs of our children, especially as we emerge from the pandemic.
