Thank you for signing our petition. Our work towards the appointment of a Cabinet Minister for Children and Young People continues. Please keep spreading the link!

We now have over 3,500 signatures and an impressive array of around 200 organisations officially signed up to the cause. Everyone agrees that a joined-up approach is desperately needed if we are to make a difference to the present and future lives of our youngsters.

We continue to hold private meetings with politicians. The good news is that they all acknowledge the problems and the strength of our case for a voice in the Cabinet for children and young people. The less good news is that politics has been so dominated by the Brexit question that it has been difficult for them to make progress with Government and inside their political Parties.

But this time will pass and the bank of political supporters we are building will prove invaluable in achieving our aim. We are planning a dinner in Parliament for key politicians in June to build further support.

We are also preparing a video presentation which will be shared with you all soon. This will include the video here. Recent figures confirm the trend of falling life expectancy in the UK. Surely no Government will feel comfortable presiding over a downturn in life expectancy? Our children are likely to be the least healthy adult population in living memory unless we can force vital changes in policy.

We thank you all for your support and will keep you updated on a regular basis from now on.
