Dear friends, Last year you bore witness to Assad's regime, Russia and their allies as they destroyed Eastern Aleppo, forcing myself, my family and my friends and neighbours to flee the city we once called home. And while it's not dominating the headlines like Aleppo once did, history is now repeating itself in Eastern Ghouta. Over the past few days I have watched as footage from Ghouta has been shared by friends and family. Watching that footage and reading their stories, I know exactly what those people are going through, because I have been through it too. When I suffered in Aleppo, the world said never again. And yet here we are, barely a year later, watching history repeat itself while those with the power to change things sit in silence. Today, the United Nations Security Council will vote on a resolution calling for a temporary cessation of hostilities in Ghouta. And while China, France, Russia, the US and UK consider how they will vote, three trucks are circling the UN building with a message they can't ignore. 500,000 DEAD IN SYRIA / AND STILL NO ACTION / HOW COME, SECURITY COUNCIL? A break in the fighting will allow for aid to get in, and the sick and the wounded to get out. It's needed now more than ever. Will you share this tweet now to make sure the world knows about the crimes being committed in Syria, and make sure they're watching as the international community considers Ghouta's fate today? http://bit.ly/2GCTBnY If you're not on Twitter, please share this website with your friends and family on your preferred social media channel: http://bit.ly/2F1a9cw Last December, your support helped expose our suffering to the world, and helped me, my family, and others to still be alive. Please do the same for Ghouta. Thank you, Dr Hamza
