Thanks to each and every one of you, our message has been loud and clear: We must prepare for a rapidly-aging population by taking better care of caregivers. The previous update reported on Minister Duclos' reply, and posted a press release inviting media to cover the senior tidal wave that will soon to hit Canada. Unless we are ready for the 80th birthday of ten million baby-boomers' in 2026, this tsunami will overwhelm our health system -- it depends more than ever on home care. This is why we have urged Minister Duclos to convene a think tank as soon as possible: to develop a plan for helping the two out of three Canadians who will be involved in care-giving. It is also why letters have gone to Canada's newly-appointed Minister of Seniors, Filomena Tassi, and to Ontario's new Minister of Health and Long-term Care, Christine Elliott -- all levels of government must work together to support our distressed caregivers. As soon as they respond, further updates will be posted. Meanwhile, thanks to all 30,000 of you for continuing to share this update, the petition, and its promotional video. Let's keep amplifying our voice to break through the constant noise. Salvatore (Sal) Amenta Links to share widely: Petition: bit.ly/2H7pZ6h Video: youtu.be/6-sn1qzLMYU
