I want to separate Chicago from the rest of Illinois.

The Issue

I feel as if though Chicago should be separated from the rest of Illinois in every manner. I know this sounds harsh, however the majority of Illinois is not Chicago. The rest of Illinois needs the tax dollars it pays to fix the roads and train tracks, to maintain Police and Fire departments, as well as our schools who are cutting trade classes like shop and carpentry; and music, art, and other creative outlets due to a lack of funding.
Instead our tax dollars are being funneled into Chicago to revive failing projects and to house criminals from Chicago. We ( as a citizen of the rest of Illinois) suffer from laws that infringe upon our rights due the the gun violence in Chicago. We have laws that are entirely unnecessary in the average small town. The whole state as a collective community of citizens should not have to manage the problems that only exist in one city.
Mr. Shimkus, I live in your district, the county is unimportant. I am just an average citizen, and this is my veiw.
Mr. Mitchell, I understand you have something in the works already and I wanted to present an opportunity for the collective community to express their potential support, as you certainly have mine!
