I would like to start a petition to create Juliette's law that would include children and individuals with disabilities to be added to upped charges of a felony assault instead of a misdemeanor. As it stands now only the elderly are eligible for charges increased to that of aggravated which bumps it to a felony. Georgia State laws need to change to protect our children and disabled from assaults. My daughter's attacker will get 12 months probation, community service, and anger management. She was 3 at the time the woman attacked her. It's considered a misdemeanor even though my daughter is a disabled (missing chromosome) 3 (now 4) year old. If GA had the laws in place, it would be bumped to a felony. Please stand with me to protect future children and disabled individuals. Perhaps if the violence carried a stiffer stigma, as that of a felony, it would discourage adults (monsters) from attacking/assaulting them physically.  Please help me be a voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. All our citizens should be protected no matter how small, frail, or differently abled. The elderly law should encompass children and people with disabilities.
