Today Mrs May and Amber Rudd have been proudly talking of helping women that have been subjected to domestic violence. Even jointly visited women survivors and aid workers.... They are recognising financial abuse of the perpetrator..... BUT still they are not linking the need for women to have a strong and stable financial pathway of DWP support to heal and rebuild her life.....
The SYSTEM IS BATTERING women with ill thought out DWP policies....
So no promises to help the journey of healing, detoxing from the ugliness of violence, rebuilding lives with rebuild of confidence and self esteem...
They fail to recognise the post traumatic stress and depression..... they fail to see that women are having to rebuild with no savings, no assets, no property that the perpetrator has robbed her of....
She then falls victim to the malpolicy of the Cameron days DWP welfare cutbacks and attack on the "something for nothing" - the demonisation of those in need of welfare..... this is perverse and not acceptable for women on a journey of rebuild.
Theresa and Amber are failing to see that failure to support the journey of healing - tethers the victim to the past pains - she needs financial support and freedom to BREAK THE CHAINS.... but may not be ready to perform in the job market till her healing journey is at a stage to do so.....and will need some overlap of support to see if she can cope with work demands... and exposure to the potential of work bullies... remember she has been living with a bully that has destroy her mind, body, spirit and finances...
I was in parliament yesterday in the APPG poverty meeting on child poverty... we have to think of the women bringing up children while on the journey of healing.... the children too need support and healing.
Women cannot have bailiffs chasing her for system failure debts - not personal debts...but system generated debts from inadequate support and drops in support!
the debt is that society and government must recognise that survivors NEED support SHE NEEDS FINANCIAL DIGNITY and with this the freedom to move on and rebuild her broken life.
