In light of the mounting allegations of sexual and ethical misconduct with an intern, and subsequent statement from Mr. Diehl, we are demanding that John Diehl Jr. resign as a Missouri State Representative and Speaker of the House. Actions require accountability and Representative Diehl has failed to be accountable for his extremely inappropriate and immoral actions. Mr. Diehl has said he "takes full responsibility for [his] actions" and it is time for elected officials and those in a position of power to keep their word to those they represent. In order to protect all working interns and young people, we as the citizens of Missouri and the United States of America, must take a stand against sexual misconduct and violence in the workplace. We must send a message to our lawmakers that they are elected with the expectation they will maintain themselves professionally and perform their legislative duties free of misconduct. The time for accountability is now. Support the resignation of John Diehl Jr.
