Australians say NO to a UN mandated republic!

0 have signed. Let’s get to 2,500!

Federal Politician Kim Beasley made a statement in 1990 as a response to Senator Button's question in the Australian Federal Parliament about whether there should be a republic. His reply was:

"The United Nations has given the Federal Government a mandate of ownership for housing, farms, property and business to government control once the REPUBLIC has been proclaimed."

Currently, the Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is putting feelers out there to see if this mandate can take effect.

What's the view of the general public now we know what the Federal Parliament are up to and why they are pushing hard for this change? Do we really want our houses to be under government control, just because of a vote from ignorant voters that don't know any better?

I'm sending the results of this petition to a local Liberal politician John Dawkins, Legislative Council Opposition Whip. I am sure there will be a resounding NO from most of you.
