Hi everyone, I thought that after 2 weeks an update was in order. First of all, I have to express my gratitude for the support. I didn't think that 273 people would come to support the petition with such insignificant promotion. That brings me to the next point: getting some publicity. The only viable stepping stone I can think of to get some attention for the petition and really reach a viable audience of people sharing our interest in Mercury is through Crackberry. I reached out to them in a couple of ways including sending a formal email to their official media outreach, but heard nothing in response. I also got a bit of a disturbing email saying that I had posted this petition on their forums under two accounts, which is simply untrue. I posted once and was notified that I also posted under a separate account. I guess it's possible that someone could have made another account with my information with intentions of killing chances of a CB post, but that seems a bit far-fetched. Still, I can't think of any other reason. I did not respond and wanted to play that situation cautiously as I assumed such a retort would sound pretty unbelievable and could further harm the chances of a CrackBerry feature for our cause. So, even though the petition is a bit of old news now and it has run out of most of its own steam, it has real potential. There are nearly 300 signatures from all over the world with no significant features of the petition. I am confident that if the link to the petition were tweeted to @bla1ze and @crackberry enough, it would garner the attention of the people we need to see it. I think this petition has a better chance than at any point before due to the number of supporters it has steadily accumulated and with some encouragement from our considerable base, CrackBerry can still serve as the stepping stone the petition needs to receive some attention from mainstream tech news sites and the like. I will continue to try to make all of our signatures count by contacting CrackBerry and other media sites, but can only be skeptical about the chances of success if we don't reach out to their content creators as a group. If you guys can just tweet to @bla1ze and @crackberry with me--and whichever other tech content creators you can think of--I think it would give the petition the boost it requires to catch BlackBerry's attention.
